About

Digital Dragon's weekly ONLINE class requires an Apple (MacOS), or PC (Windows OS). The use of a computer mouse, not a laptop trackpad, is strongly recommended. Classes will be held virtually, with a live instructor through the Zoom platform.

DESCRIPTION:
Take a shot at being a game designer through the popular game design community of Roblox. Students will use Roblox Studio, a game development platform, to create a series of mini games such as obstacle courses, adventure maps, and puzzle games. They will work with simple physics, create and texture set pieces, and use the Lua programming language to code special game objects. Come add your own mini-game star to the popular Roblox game galaxy.

REFUND POLICY:
* Full refund, 1 week before the first day of an online class session
* Within a week of a class starting, a partial credit may be offered if there is a wait list and the spot can be filled.
* Once classes start, NO REFUNDS.
* No credits nor refunds for absences due to illness or otherwise.
* We do not offer makeup classes, but private instruction can be available for additional costs.
*We will consider a transfer to another class with advance notice and based on availability.

TIME ZONE: Please check this to make sure you are signed up for a time that works for you (1pmPT, 2pmMT, 3pmCT, 4pmET).

TECH SET UP INSTRUCTIONS:

Please come prepared to the first day of class. If you have any questions with the programs you need for class, please let us know in advance: info@digitaldragon.co

ZOOM:
Task 1: Visit the following link--it should prompt you to download Zoom.
https://zoom.us/support/download Once you’ve downloaded it, you’ll need to run and install the software.

Task 2: Please test your Zoom audio before class. See here for a how-to on that: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362283-Testing-Computer-or-Device-Audio

PROGRAMS
Task 3: Ensure that you have Roblox Studio installed. Go to (https://www.roblox.com/create), and click the button mid-page that says "Start Creating". This will prompt the webpage to check and see if you already have Roblox Studio installed.

*Please note, in testing this process we encountered some issues downloading Roblox Studio with Chrome. Should you encounter issues downloading with Chrome, try a different web browser (Safari, Firefox, Edge). We had success with Safari.
This class requires a Mac or PC computer.
If you do not have issues, a button will appear that says “Download Studio”. Click that button.
Once downloaded, you will need to open the file to run and install Roblox Studio. Once the install is complete, it will prompt you to log-in.

*If your student does not already have a Roblox account, follow the directions below.

Task 4: From the login prompt, follow the link that says “Not a member yet? Sign Up”, or navigate to (https://www.roblox.com/?v=rc&rbx_medium=direct&rbx_source=com.roblox.studio). Create an account and follow instructions regarding confirming the email address.

Roblox Studio is NOT the same program that your students use to play Roblox--additional install IS NECESSARY and you should come to class with all of this already set up!

Zoom Link will be sent out before the first day of the session.

We look forward to seeing you in class!
